• OUR APPROACH TO PARTNERSHIP

At ALN, we focus on transforming the role of national stakeholders in fragile, conflict-affected settings. Our commitment is to foster dynamic, feminist-driven partnerships with a diverse range of local actors, including national governments, civil society leaders, women’s and youth-led organizations, informal community groups, and activists.

We prioritize the deepening of national capacities to lead peacebuilding, security, and governance reforms from within. By drawing on the expertise of our diverse pool of global south practitioners, ALN provides tailored, context-sensitive support to enhance the effectiveness of local organizations, ensuring that their voices are heard in the corridors of power.

  • To decolonise, disrupt aid dependency, and build local governance, ALN’s pool of global south feminist experts works alongside Global South national governments, institutions, and private stakeholders to design and implement grassroots solutions that  engage and reflect local realities. Whether through technical assistance, systems reform, or policy co-design, we work towards ensuring that national approaches and interventions,  and recovery  are shaped by local priorities.

  • Backing Civil Society Leadership

We partner with women-led groups, youth movements, and grassroots coalitions to amplify their influence. Through tailored advisory support and strategic facilitation, we help civil society actors claim space, shape narratives, and lead structural change from the ground up.

    Catalyzing Community-Led Solutions

We invest in local knowledge and leadership to drive sustainable recovery and development. By centering the lived realities of communities—particularly those on the margins—we co-design interventions that are practical, inclusive, and built to last. Our role is not to dictate, but to guide and unlock space for communities to lead on their own terms.

    Influencing systems from within

Through strategic guidance and technical collaboration, we support INGOs, donor communities to integrate localisation into their operational framework, to go beyond the tick box or lip service but as a foundational value. At ALN, we support them to listen differently, act more responsibly and to create a space for alternative knowledge systems to lead. Our consultancy bridges the gap between international agenda and grounded local solutions, providing pathways to policy coherence, shared ownership and transformative change.

  • Our approach is deeply feminist, decolonial, and bottom-up. We focus on dismantling extractive models by supporting local actors to claim space, lead design processes, and hold influence over decisions that impact their lives.
